Swiss Steak - The Movie Video Clips.
My recipe for some good ol' comfort food - best served over garlicy mashed potatoes. The recipe is listed at the bottom of this sidebar. The musical score was arranged and created by me, entitled, "Swiss Steak" - a free public domain mp3 is now available at soundclick, if you like: www.soundclick.com Charts position highest in charts:# 331 (of 129430 in Alernative) highest in sub-genre:# 58 (of 28804 in Expermental) The Song Whisperer was at it again, I fear :) Swiss Steak (all ingredients approx) 2# round steak, cut in 3x4 inch steaks 2 large whole red peppers, rough chop 2 large sweet onions, rough chop 1 (or 2) 1# 12 ounce cans diced tomatoes 1 (or 2) large cans tomato sauce sea salt cracked pepper basil and/or oregano (fresh if possible) otherwise, to taste *option fresh ingredients from herb garden (I used cilantro, rosemary and red anaheim peppers). Cut the meat into 3 x 4 inch steaks, set aside. Prepare the onions and peppers giving them a rough cut along with any herbs. Add tomato sauce to pot, then meat - coat the meat. Add diced tomatoes and stir. Add the vegetables, and stir. Cook long and slow until the meat falls apart (at least 3 or 4 hours) stirring occasionally. Add the seasonings towards the end of cooking. I cook with the lid on until near the end, where I will then allow a little reduction. [note] This recipe easily adapts to either a slow cooker or a pressure cooker - depending upon your available time and kitchen resources. Serve over garlicy mashed ...
